All enquiries relating to admission to any program of studies at the Canadian College of Funeral Service may be directed to the Admissions Office at admissions@ccfs.ca or toll-free at 1-888-797-9941.

No application will be considered complete until the Canadian College of Funeral Service receives all the supporting documents, transcripts, and fees. If you are accepted to a program, a letter of acceptance, a school calendar, a lesson schedule, and an invoice will be emailed to you.

Step 1:
Does this application apply to your program of study?
This application form only applies for entry into the following programs:
  1. Two-Year Funeral Director and Embalmer Licensure Program
  2. Two-Year Funeral Director Licensure Program
  3. Two-Year Embalmer Licensure Program
  4. One-Year Foundation Program

STEP 3:
DO YOU MEET THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS?
To enroll in a CCFS program:
  1. Are you 18 years of age or older?
  2. Do you have a High School Diploma, GED or CAEC?
  3. Do you have grade 12 English?
ESL Students
A command of the English language, both oral and written, is necessary to successfully complete any program at the Canadian College of Funeral Service. ESL students may be required to complete an English language competency exam before acceptance.
Step 4:
Gather Your Supporting Documents
IMPORTANT: All documents MUST be submitted in PDF format.
All applicants, regardless of program, must provide:
  1. Two Letters of Character Reference:
    • One reference must be professional (from a supervisor, manager, employer, teacher, coach, clergy,…)
    • References must have known the applicant for no less than two years
    • Individuals providing the reference must indicate their name and contact information, affiliation with the applicant, and the length of time they have known the applicant.
    • References cannot be from family members or colleagues working in the candidate’s funeral home.
    • Each reference must complete a reference letter and the Reference Document. Both must be submitted with your application.
    • Reference letters must be dated.

  2. Transcripts:
    • Must scan and submit an official transcript from high school, GED, or CAEC.
  3. Vulnerable Sector Check:
    • Must be within six months of the September program start date.
    • Must be from the RCMP or local police authority.
  4. Proof of Hepatitis B Immunization
  5. Proof of N95 Respiratory Mask Fit Test
    • Must be within six months of the September program start date.
Licensure Program applicants must also provide:
  1. Sponsor Information and Agreement:
Driver’s Licence Recommended:
  • A driver’s licence is not a requirement for admission to CCFS.
  • However, a valid driver’s licence is required by most employers/funeral homes. This may impact a student’s ability to complete the program requirements and/or gain employment in the funeral profession.
  • CCFS recommends all students have or obtain a driver’s licence.
Step 5:
Complete the Online Application Form
Complete the online application form below.
Your application, supporting documentation, and payment must be received before the July 1 deadline.
If you cannot complete the form because you are missing some information or do not have all your documents ready to upload, please click the [Save & Continue Later] button. We will email you a link so that you can complete your form at a later time. The link will be valid for 30 days.
If you have any difficulties filling in the form or need to fill in a paper-based application, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@ccfs.ca or toll-free at 1-888-797-9941.
Step 6:
Submit Your Application
Click the [Submit Application] button at the end of the form once you have completed the application form in full and uploaded all required documents. No further changes are allowed once your form has been submitted.
You will have the opportunity to download your application once you submit it. To respect and protect your privacy, your SIN (social insurance number) will not be viewable or recorded on your downloaded document. Our security system will make your SIN available to our Admissions Office.
Step 7:
Pay Your Application Fee
The application fee of $115.00 (GST/HST included) is due upon submission of your application and is non-refundable.
Payment can be made by credit card, e-transfer, cheque, money order, or bank draft.
Payment details will be emailed to you once you submit your application. If you need further information, please call the Admissions Office at admissions@ccfs.ca or toll-free at 1-888-797-9941.
IMPORTANT: Your application will not be reviewed until your payment is received.
Late Applications:
  • Applications received after July 1 are considered late applications and may be accepted and reviewed case-by-case.
  • IMPORTANT: An additional late application fee will apply to any candidate who submits their completed application after July 1. This fee is in addition to the $115.00 application fee. Please refer to the table below for the total fee required for your province of residence. All fees include applicable GST/HST for your province.
